In 2008, a man was brutally murdered while holding the post of Regional Chief of State Life Insurance.
He was on duty at the office and another State Life employee shot dead his regional chief 10 times. The State Life staff did not inform the police. A Geo News journalist who was present reported the murder to the Police over the phone.
Accused Syed Taqi Haider Shah escaped to Dubai after killing him
The accused killed Syed Taqi Haider Shah and fled to Dubai. Police registered a case against the assistant of the regional chief who was killed, but no significant progress has been made in this case.
Mah Amjad, who is the daughter of the murdered person, says that when my father was murdered, I was 15 years old and I was a school-going girl. The deceased had also written a letter to his officer saying that he had a life threat from Syed Haider Shah, yet State Life did not take any action. Maham Amjad accused State Life of non-cooperation.
Sindh High Court
Maham Amjad said that we were living in Karachi at that time and this murder also happened in Karachi. Sometimes the Sindh High Court and sometimes the Lahore High Court are going around the courts for justice.
Justice KK Agha and Justice Nimatullah of the Sindh High Court have given clear orders to arrest the accused from Dubai and produce them. Even the judges have issued show-cause notices to the concerned department and the Secretary of Sindh has also been summoned. But still, Syed Taqi Haider Shah was not arrested.
Interpol has arrested the accused once or twice, but he was released due to the negligence of the Foreign Office.
State Life gave the accused’s son Zain Ul Abedin a job in the same position, but there was no cooperation from us.
Maham Amjad has now filed a case in Lahore High Court because State Life Insurance is a federal institution so this case can also be tried in Lahore.
