In 1906, Hakim Saeed’s father established an institution of medicine and wisdom in Delhi, which he proposed as Hamdard Pharmacy. Hakeem Abdul Majeed died in 1922. Hakeem Muhammad Saeed was only two years old at the time of his father’s death. After his father’s death, the entire management of the pharmacy was taken over by his mother and later handed over to his elder brother Hakeem Abdul Hameed. In 1945, Hakeem Muhammad Saeed received his master’s degree in pharmacy. Along with Saeed, he moved to Karachi and founded Hamdard Pharmacy Pakistan in 1948. In 1952, Hakeem Mohammad Saeed went to Turkey to pursue higher education, he obtained his PhD in Pharmacy from Ankara University and became Professor of Pharmacy at Sindh University. He continued to teach organic chemistry.

In 1963, he resigned from the University of Sindh based on disagreement with the federal government.
